Ten Dollars Ten Trees

Postby FarUnderPar » Sun Mar 14, 2010 6:10 am

I recently joined the Arbor Day Foundation. Included in the price of membership comes 10 free trees. The site lets you choose your tree type based on your location and you can even choose a variety package of five different tree types (2 of each). The foundation ships the trees to you near the best planting season. I was thinking that it would be a good idea to plant the trees in the park, a friend suggested that we plant them in the wetlands of hole 9 and hole 4. Trees would help absorb a lot of the water. The trees are only 6"-12", but I figure if there's going to be cool flower budding trees in our park one day someone's got to plant them, and the sooner the better. Anyways, I wanted to encourage others to do the same. I'm also wondering if anyone thinks that this will cause a conflict with the parks department or if anyone is strongly against the idea of planting potentially beautiful trees in an otherwise dull park.

planting a tree in front of tee pad 2 would be sweet.. it would make the hole tougher like it was before the tree that used to be there got cut down!

Is this where the new trees on 6 came from?

I like the new trees.

No. Actually I contacted the parks dept. and they didn't give me permission to plant anything. All of the new trees were planted by the parks department. I did get my 10 free trees though, planted them at home.
